How Can hearing Loss Along With Ear Pain Be Treated?
three years ago i suffered sudden hearing loss. It has not improved and sometimes the ear will ache. Ringing never stops. In August of 2016 I was suffering from congestion and coughing also I would loose my voice. I did not go to the doctor because I was a smoker and did not want the lecture. I quit smoking after 48 years. (been hell but...) In October I woke in the night very ill. admitted to hospital with severe pneumonia so much so they asked about a DNR. I completed the round of antibiotics IV and then oral upon discharge. X-rays since have shown that the pneumonia has not cleared and I am on a fourth round of Antibiotics. This morning i woke with blood on pillow. Did pulmonary function test today (very poor although the tech could not give me any results. She did say...A for effort. I have seldom been ill so am not a hypo but i feel and fear I have lung cancer. I asked for a MRI but was told they probably won t do one yet??????
There can be many reasons for hearing loss. To find the possible cause, audiometry should be done to see the cause and type and amount of hearing loss.
If you have already done the audiometry, please send me the report. If not please get it done.
Also, tell me do you have any history of frequent nasal infections or throat infections?
Any history of loud noise exposure or trauma to the ear?
The management will depend on the reports.
Follow up with the required information so that I can suggest you better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
